Oh then you'll enjoy some bits of Opeth. I thoroughly enjoy the bits where he actually sings, and then rather ignorantly try and switch off at the growly vocals.

Haha I should edit my post at the top of the page to incorporate this.

Yes, they're a great band, but definitely a required...I mean...acquired taste!!!
For those who aren't into 7-15 minute jams, Opeth might not be one of their favorites, but for any accomplished musicians such as myself, Opeth are like a dark, brutal, jazzy, heavy, beautifulcreative, ghostly magic!!!

On top of that, they were an incredible live band!!!When I first heard some of the songs, I enjoyed listening to them very much...
...after going to see Opeth in concert, I honestly get more of a chill when I hear/play those great tracks!!!It's almost like the ghosts/spirits are there to accompany Opeth's great fans!!!

Go see them in concert if ya haven't already, ya hear?

Orchid and My Arms, Your Hearse are my favorites out of all the others.
I was listening to nearly all of their albums today looking back at some of the tracks and now I've gotta tell you that you need "Still Life.""M.A.Y.H." is great, but I would still have to say that "Still Life" is a bit better all around!!!As you mentioned, "Orchid" is a good one too!!!

Hey judas!!!I know we've talked about Megadeth a bit lately, but since I'm telling you about Opeth now, these are the albums I'd recommend starting off with:

1.Blackwater Park.
2.Deliverance.
3.Still Life.

By the way, I know you were trying to learn how to play guitar lately...well, don't even think about trying these guys yet!!!There, I saved you the headache of not being able to learn how to play their "passages", cheers!!!

Lol- yeah I kinda guessed they'd be impossible to play. I had no intentions of trying!
Thanks for the advice, I'll keep these albums in mind when I'm next buying Cds.
Do you play any Opeth songs on guitar/ drums?
