Default Lies

"Lies" by Evanescence.

Ok, so I want to know what they mean by:

But through my tears breaks a blinding light
Birthing a dawn to this endless night
Arms outstretched, awaiting me
An open embrace upon a bleeding tree

and

I have lived and I died for you
Abide in me and I vow to you
I will never forsake you

Seems to be an allusion to Christ, but is it condemning the religion or somehow embracing it? I.e. The rest of the song is about someone being psychologically hurt and then finding salvation, or is the song about how religion is a false comfort?

Yes, I believe so. Well, looking at the lyrics, it ends with that allusion, so I suppose it does not hold any anti-Christian messages. :P It makes more sense on paper than when one listens to it. :P

But considering they are a "gothic" band and death and unrequited love metaphors run rampant, maybe it isn't a Christian refrence at all.

I know Amy Lee is a Christian but not sure on the others
