Motorhead is one of the bands that got me into music, period. Something about the craziness, the dirty rock n roll attitude, the gravel gargling vocals... it all sucked me in. I was seriously addicted for my first year or two of being a fledgeling music nerd, but stopped for overexposure. It may be about time to break out Lemmy again and rock out.

My 4th favorite band behind Metallica, AC/DC and the Runaways!

And I think that those are warts on Lemmy's face. I think. Maybe birthmarks...?

One of the greatest bands of all time!

My first experience with Motorhead was getting Iron Fist, and it was onto the rest. No Remorse is a classic comp for a good shot of the early years, while the Documentary on the making of Ace of Spades is very cool. The recent film on Lemmy is great.

Ace of Spades is an essential to any collection, but there's more to get into.

My Punk rock years were highlighted by watching The Young Ones episode (I think it was called Bambi, with the performance of "Ace of Spades"), which is still a classic.

Sharp and solid sounds to blast from your speakers and ride with.

What was the source for that Ace of Spades documentary?

It was released through Eagle Vision on DVD back in 2004. The Classic Albums series also included Docs on Lou Reed's Transformer and The Sex Pistols' Never Mind the Bollocks. They are official Docs with interviews with many of the band members, including leaders (something you don't see much in "Independent Overviews" you usually see in stores). The Ace of Spades disc includes interviews with Lemmy and other band members, usually in the studio going through some songs track by track.

Saw them at Ozzfest 1998, they were the first band to play, right about noon. Lemmy came out and said "Good morning everyone here's your muther-****in wake-up call!" and launched into Iron Fist. Set the tone for the rest of the day.

Pure genious I tell ya.

Totally agree. Couldn't describe it better than you did

Well, considering the other bands that were there, the venue organizer must have thought it better to put them first. *shrug*

United States
Lineup
Main Stage:
Ozzy Osbourne, Tool, Megadeth, Limp Bizkit, Soulfly, Sevendust, Coal Chamber,

Second Stage:
Motörhead, System of a Down, Melvins, Incubus, Snot, Ultraspank, Life of Agony, Kilgore, Monster Voodoo Machine
It says "Second" stage, but they actually played first on the main. From what I can remember of it. It was a wierd day. I brought my friend Wiggles with to Alpine Valley, and as soon as we walked in, I was just uttering the words "Now, don't run off and leav..." as Wiggles took off for the front row of the main stage. I had to chase him down. When I caught up to him, he was pointing at Lemmy saying "Look who's goin on first!". I was glad he was such a spaz.

Motorhead is definetly an amazing band. I love listening to Overkill and The Game. My dad recently bought a 3-CD set of Motorhead CD's. It's got a lot of awesome songs that will definetly fulfill your music needs. Well, that is if you are a metal head, like me.
