@Mirosurabu: it's actually hard to quote your insults and lashing out because most of them have been deleted by the mods, but your initial reaction to duga was to call him a name and then you rounded on gunnels. You called me semi-rude and despite your perceived (by you) manners had not the decency to reply to my query as to why anything I said to you could be construed as even halfway impolite; you just ignored that.

Even after the mods cleaned up the thread you persist throwing insults around. You are aware that one of the rules here is no personal attacks, aren't you? And that launching one of them on a mod is a really silly idea: they can and will ban you, and will be justified in doing so. You need to calm down. Your initial posts were in fact good, but like a few others we've seen here recently, once someone disagreed you got all heated and lost the head.

No, it's not a joke. And yes, it is true. It is precisely because I have manners that I'm rude. Manners require that you put a limit somewhere. Once that limit is crossed you're forced to lash out at the person. It's impossible to be infinitely tolerant because that would lead to the disappearance of the tolerance. What's happening here is that people do not understand that what is and what is not rude depends on the context. In reality, without taking context into account, anything can be perceived as rude provided there is a person sensitive enough to perceive it as such. "God does not exist", for example, is often perceived as an insult by religious people. But within intellectual discussions such statements ARE NOT perceived as rude but, rather, as polite! because that's how these discussions work, whereas statements where you accuse people of "pseudo-intellectual trolling" or arguments which lack elaboration are perceived as rude (and for a very good reason.) And just like a friend of a friend who insults you will get a punch in his face, a person who dismisses my arguments as "pseudo-intellectual trolling" will be called by his name. You get my point? People here do not understand how intellectual discussions work.

Okay then. I've come to the realisation that it's completely pointless arguing with you. Your responses to me show that you haven't a clue. To say a friend who insults you will get a punch in the face just shows on how short a fuse you are. Most people will NOT punch a friend in the face as a first reaction, yet you use this as justification for being rude!

And to say you have manners and that's why you're rude is totally ludicrous. Also, stop saying I made things up: I already told you your offensive posts (along with mine) were removed so there's no way I can show you them but they were there. And finally, to take a genuine warning that you are not making friends as being rude is just the final straw.

Just so you know the difference: what I did was try to show you that you were going about this the wrong way, and was never once rude (except in your own skewed worldview it would seem), but despite this you've decided I was.

Little hint: this is me being (uncharacteristically, but you've earned it) rude:

Enjoy your thread, and making more enemies. I'm done here. What began as something that could have been a decent discussion has now descended into you telling people why they're rude, when you're the one throwing around insults and then trying to justify them. Bored now.

I was exaggerating, moron. Yes, you are right, you don't have to punch him, you can do other things, like, I don't know, insulting him back. But the point remains is that you won't just allow him to do that -- only someone with zero self-respect would do that.
