I think I'm pretty varied.
It is varied within the Metal community I will give you that. I think I will leave the convo right here.

Genres have ups and downs. I listen to hip-hop as well as heavy metal, blues rock as well as punk rock. Fighting over what genres are the best is impossible a lot of the time (unless if it is nu metal versus heavy metal, that's not even a fair match).

Why does it matter if one band nu metal and another heavy metal
why can't we just call it all just metal.

Because than someone like I, who likes some power or speed metal would have a very hard time finding the stuff I like in just one genre that now exists. Please don't put black metal in with that. Subgenres really are needed.

Please don't be such meat head, this like asking to call all shades of green, green. Sure you'd still have all the greens, but good luck asking for the shade you like.

I suppose
still, I feel like all genres of metal should at least be RESPECTED. So what metalcore usually isn't as musically demanding as power metal and maybe you prefer i band like angra or cryonic temple to Bring me the horizon or asking alexiandria you should at least let other people enjoy them insted of saying "they're so gehy all you stupid little emo***s listeing to chugchugchugchugchug on the guitar lulz"

Sounds like you have been hanging around too many high school aged kids. I haven't heard someone call any form of music ghey or for emo's since I got out. Though, I do suppose that also depends on who you surround yourself with in the first place.

I dunno man, it's just i find myself liking a little bit of everything (except country, but I respect it), and it pisses me off when 80's metal elitests are like "stupid scene emo kids and their ****ty screamoz, lul i luv iron maiden"

Well there will always be people who have a closed mind to genres they dislike, what is important is that you like it and listen to it. Keep listening to what you like and don't worry about what others might think about it.
