Fuck no. The Black Album was dull dull dull. It had some cool songs, but a lot of them were just boring. The only song off there that I still give even a slight fuck about is "The Unforgiven".

"Through the Never" is pretty good too, but yeah that album definitely isn't one of their crowning achievements.

I actually quite liked Garage Days Revisited/Cover album. I'm a staunch supporter of the first four records including that. They left my market when they released the Black album it was quite a shock they changed their sound so much. There were a few bluesy tunes I liked on that album, but I wasn't exactly happy with the overall purchase. I'm surprised there are so many people that don't consider the Kill Em All album great, I go through months where I find it their best.

Hell yeah. You can call it a thrash album, but it's really just one of the greatest and most intense straight up heavy metal albums ever made. Like Holocaust and Diamond Head combined with hardcore punk.

Exactly. Threres a strong argument to be made that the Black Album is their crowning achievement.

In terms of units sold, sure. But I was talking in terms of quality.

Blech. Even if you like their later work, I'd still take Load over the Black Album any day.
