If you think Nu metal is melodic then I do sympathize with your ears. I guess you don't know metal that well, as to call Nu metal more melodic than other types of metal just demonstrates this.
It already tarnishes the good name of metal, let's spare rock from a similiar fate.
Not all other types of metal but when people say metal they mean heavy/death/trash/black. Which is in most cases bad IMO. I don't mind progressive or sludge metal f.e.
Good name? Metal got a good name? Most people associate metal with low IQ, bad hygiene, neanderthal behavior and thinking, violence towards women, long feminine hair and leather pants, bad physical condition and alcohol.
