Default Anybody listen to Mystery?

The world is a game was my first album from them which I enjoy immensely. Going to have to start back tracking their previous releases. Just wondering if anybody else listens to these guys.

Love Mystery! In fact I reviewed two of their albums in my journal, one of which ("The world is a game") also gets on my best of 2012 list. St-Pere is a real focal point for the band, and the vocals of Benoit David just totally complement his style. I think Mystery should be a lot better known than they are, and hopefully they will be before too long.

I can recommend "One among the living", although to be fair that and the new one are all I've had the time to listen to. I have little doubt that the previous four albums are just as good though.

Not really my cup of coffee, but that song is pretty good. I dont really like the vocalist though. I truly prefer Dream Theater over this band.

I try to appreciate each artist for their uniqueness and individuality which is why I have an extensive library of music to listen to.

Well what kind of uniqueness does Mystery have? Based on the song you gave me, I sense no uniqueness at all. Only boredom and a bad vocalist.

I'm not sure how you can say a bad vocalist! Benoit David was the replacement of choice for Jon Anderson in Yes --- in fact, he sounds a lot like him: almost uncannily so --- so if you're saying he's bad then you're also saying Anderson is bad, and that just proves that you're making a very false assumption here, as love him or loathe him, most will agree Jon Anderson is a very talented person and a great vocalist.

Also, this discussion would be better held in the progressive rock subforum, if a mod might be kind enough to move it?

Whiskey, put down your ninth Jack Daniels and try this.

Thats a much better song. I just got a bad impression from the first one that puffnstuff posted. I always say precisely what I think and I expect people not to take offense if I have a negative opinion about something.

No, you're entitled to your opinion of course. I was just surprised you thought David a bad vocalist. As a matter of interest, do you rate Jon Anderson, or is it that sort of falsetto sound you don't like?

Glad you liked the second track anyway...
