Yeah, at the last metal show I went to the crowd by and large just looked like regular people, possibly with a higher prevalence of facial hair than the general population.

Yeah, I don't know what it is with fat metalhead dudes and full beards is, but it needs to stop. It just makes you look like a slob.

All I'm saying is I have known a lot of people that call themselves metal heads, who like to wear all black, everyday, along with big gauges and tons of other piercings. And I've never known any other genre of music whose fans are like this. I'm from Dallas and when I've gone out to the local music scene, this is all I've seen, and all the bands are Pantera wannabe's. that obviously has something to do with location.

Yeah, I'm guessing you're seeing the same people I was talking about. I don't associate with those people, and consider them to generally be trend chasing teenagers/early-twenty-somethings who are either a few years from aging out of metal or will probably be pumping gas for the rest of their lives. If they had heard ICP before they heard Job for a Cowboy they probably would have been juggalos.

Slip NOT much better than all.
Is how I read it when I see this thread pop up.

I saw them at Ozzfest '99. They were one of the first bands to play the main stage (wiki says 2nd stage, but they were MAIN, I had skybox and didn't leave it for most of the day), and I had to ask my friend who they were. For what they do, they do it well, I just can't listen to angst music too much anymore. Oh sure, I bought Iowa and listened to it for a while, but over time and after a certain (shall we say) "Mellowing", bands like this just seem silly.
