Hmmm I would probably have to say anything from TOOL but if I had to chose I would say ether Opiate or Thirty Six and 2

No, I've heard my fair share of Tool. Their sound is very crisp, and based on restrained timbres. They focus a lot on bass grooves, and little on truly intense sounds.

Something like this makes Tool songs sound like lullabies:

Yea that's all true I personally don't really listen to all that much Death or Screamo music. Tools music can be intense in there own way. But obviously they can't compare to the song you posted or Cannibal Corps, Slayer, Lamb of God, Kylesa ext. I was going for actual meaning to the lyrics and how the singer him/her self feel about the matter. And Tool usually always has something to say or show people so that's why I chose them as the most Intense. And I'm a sucker for drums too >,< And Tool has some amazing drums!!

I would also like to throw in some Hella. While they aren't particularly melodically intense, their rhythms most definitely are.

It's not heavy, but Pink Floyd's Run Like Hell has a level of intensity that is a bit surprising.
