Is Iggy Pop the grandfather of punk?
I would say yes.
What you have to remember is that Slade never started, or ended, as a glam rockband, but only in the 70s.
yes you could say that but then They were'nt what i would call soul either, iggy definately rocked the hardest and was a massive influence on all the punks, indluding the pistols ramones and bucks fizz
Iggy did rock, or dad rock as it might be called today, but slade werent are, or never were punks, along with the Ramones they didnt secure a place in history for no reason at all.

I think the Ramones were, aswell as being cut out for the life they never had (and it proved their undoing when half the band died) they could have easily abolish any modern day Iggy if they hadn't.
Hahhahahahaha!! yes LMFAO!!! Didn't steve strange turn slades fortunes round after the ramones deaths?
Quite the buff arn't you? |
Working hand in hand with Marilyn I believe, in Iggy's hometown and not only reversing fortunes but shedding light on the minor matter of the 'who killed c.o.c.k robin' affair of '76!! Remember that, how the hell did any of them survive it? A wonder punks not dead!
That whole C.o.c.k robin affair of 76,that was so close to the end,Iggy's hometown was not Strange's strangest work but with the light thrown on it in the outcome it did look that way for a while, remember it??? Who could forget it?
I know! It was memorable for more than a few, the conclusion being a real baptism by fire! Strange had to see it all through but did he stay to the end, when was the end because the Flying Pickets had come and gone by the time anyone had realised!
