Fushitsusha are my favorite noise rock band... hands down. They're also one of the first bands of the genre (they started composing and recording music in the late 70s). Their overall work is just breathtaking (and incredibly unique). It's dark. It's free-form. It's aggressive. It's psychedelic. And it often borders on just pure noise.

I like those attributes (the bolded words) but I don't really think of that as noise rock. I want more dirty, evil rock-n-roll music. Free form noisy distorted psychedelic rock like Fushitsusha is admirable but just not the same. Also, no offense but 'breathtaking' is one word

I can see how some of their music could escape the label, but as I'm concerned... abrasive/distorted rock music that often makes use of atonality is noise rock. It's a very broad term that encompasses anything from Sonic Youth to... well, Fushitsusha.

I don't mean to be exclusive. But I personally think of noise rock as noisy traditional rock music. That band sounds more like improvised jazz, which is way different from what I consider noise rock to be. I don't claim to be an authority on this stuff. Where the **** is bob. when you need him?
