Shellac holding 2 spots in the top20, sweet.
Minus the Bear I never lopped them into mathrock before. I'm much more familiar with their latter works, but even then... I dunno. Great band though. Zu. Now that'll fit. Carboniferous is a fantastic album... Tera Melos is most excellent as well. This is the first band I thought of. And So I Watch You From Afar You Slut! - Critical Meat. Excellent album. Looking at this yesterday for GBs grandiose titles thread. Oh cool they have a new album, this year. Medium Bastard. Might have a few names that aren't on that RYM when I open up my music library. Charts and Maps - Dead Horse (2011) Amazing album, more on the jazzy side. One of my favorite discoveries last year. Ghosts and Vodka are awesome. By The End of Tonight... more like math metal :P |
this should be number one :) |

A couple from me: |
I have an incredibly imbecilic question, why is Math Metal referred to as mathcore? It truly gives me a reverse erection everytime people address it as such.

Anyway, this week rocks! My favorite Don Cab song |
I've really been wanting to get into this genre after I listened to and enjoyed Toe. Will be listening to most everything you guys post, so post away!

I spent a lot of the 90s with this stuff but I guess I kind of stopped paying attention after 2000. Also, I third bob's nod to Faraquet (maybe not #1 but up there).
Here are a couple of my choice cuts: Michael Anthony by A Minor Forest Open Bay by Sharks Keep Moving |
