Yeah they're similar to Suicidal Tendencies especially, seeing as they're a hardcore outfit that also, like SOAD, has dramatic dynamic shifting. That ain't prog. Never will be to anyone who knows what prog is. Either way it's really not worth arguing to any extent further.

I'm actually really getting into these three albums, real proggy with poetic and thought-provoking lyrics. Hard not to compare them to Tool, which is one of my top five bands of all time probably.

Second Life Syndrome by Riverside is fantastic.
Oceanic by Isis if you want some post-metal The Mantle by Agalloch, folky post black metal with a heavy avant-garde/prog presence The Human Equation by Ayreon, sort of a who's who of prog metal Opeth, Mastodon, Meshuggah, Pain of Salvation

If that's the case, a lot of hardcore/crossover/metalcore bands are progressive. I guess you could think that it's intricate, and subjectively be right about anything. However, this is like calling Godsmack grunge because they copy 90% of what they do from Alice In Chains.
