Atmospheric Black Metal
I saw the death metal thread and it inspired me to do an Atmospheric Black Metal thread. This thread is dedicated to rejoicing this wonderful genre. I hope it will inspire some people to go check out some of this stuff.

I don't like this sub-genre. Whenever I put music on, I am actively listening to it.... which, from what I gather, is not the point of such ambient or atmospheric music, which is intended to be background noise or what have you. Meh.
Anyways, Drudkh can be ok when they get into Burzum worship mode, but otherwise they're overly boring. "Songs of Grief and Solitude" is my favorite album by them, really, although it's certainly not black metal.

I've been hearing good things about Marrow of the Spirit. Have you heard it?

+1 on Drudkh.
Also these: Last year's album Torn Beyond Reason was pretty amazing, and the band hails from Australia of all places. For an atmospheric black metal band they can sound uplifting at times. The production leaves a lot to be desired but this song is amazing. A good Irish atmospheric black metal band. While this track isn't purely atmospheric black metal itself, it gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it. Creepy stuff.
