Might as well throw in some Deafheaven and Cobalt

Dang, that's a lot of suggestions lol. Will get on those, thanks guys.

No mention of Ulver? Their early stuff works better as full albums rather than singles so I'll just recommend you check out Bergtatt: Et eeventyr i 5 capitler (1993)
I would also highly recommend Blut Aus Nord's 2003 album This Work Which Transforms God, it's one of the more unsettling pieces of music I've heard, with a heavy emphasis on structure and layered sounds. |
I find Dimmu Borgir and Emmperor very atmospheric.

I'm just listening to Deafheaven for the first time and I don't think it's very good. I like the dreamier moments but I don't think they really know how to metal out. They should try their hand at being anothe Explosions in the Sky rip off
By the way, I think Explosions in the Sky influenced more music in the last two years than any other band. Their sound is all over the place. |

New Bermuda.

Try Sunbather, and if you don't enjoy the opening track Dream House, well then I guess the band really isn't something you'll enjoy.
|
I'll be goddamned Dream House is good ****ing song. Good call.
