I prefer their Nicks/Buckingham era to their early blues albums. The self-titled album and Rumours are essential for that matter. Mirage and Tango in the night proved they were still crafting good melodies in the eighties.

I know a lot of folks think Lindsey's songs are self indulgent and they are, a little, but they're also a lot of fun and they fit the overall fee of the album, which is sprawling and ambitious. I also think Lindsey as producer goaded both Christine and Stevie to record some of the best songs of either of their careers and, of course, the group songs are just sublime. I love love love the first two B/N albums, but Tusk is the one that still really knocks my socks off to this day.

I would also give a special shout to the last album, 'Say You Will' - that was a really unexpected return to form, and probably the heaviest record in the whole B/N era. Who'd a thunk it? Still waiting for a vinyl release on that one!

Solid Blues rock and I like almost all of it. After he left and Bob Welch joined they released "Future Games". What a great album, yet so completely different than anything they had done before. Like a whole different band. "Sentimental Lady" off Bare Trees was great, and a better version than Welch's solo version a few years later, which is the one most people know from the 70s.

Not enough love for Tusk in this thread. A sprawling album filled with brilliance.
