You won't regret getting the NM album man. That song's a good example and its a very consistent album. In my top 20 albums ever probably.

Sorry bro, while I like some stuff that’s a little bit doomy (Sabbath, early Katatonia, some sludge metal) I’m really more of a black, death, thrash kind of guy. The clean vocal harmonies here are too melodic and a bit annoying, the overall texture of the song is too gentle and much of the time it’s way too slow. So basically the criticisms I have of Candlemass type doom metal in general, lol. That being said I can see it being somewhat epic and it is pretty much as enjoyable as most Candlemass I’ve heard so doom fans may well enjoy it.. 6/10

Forgotten synth-based ambient black metal from Poland..

Mussorgski – Ice In My Heart

I'm not the biggest black metal fan but I quite enjoyed that and its a good song. 7/10.

One of the best Candlemass songs.

Wow, this truly is a shocking one for me as I’ve only heard Tiamat’s debut, a blackened death metal album, Sumerian Cry and their nastier black metal demos as Treblinka.
They sound about as different here as they could possibly sound. The vocals remind me a bit of Tom Waits and also a bit of Andrew Eldrtich from The Sisters of Mercy. Weird as **** to hear these guys being trip-hop like but not a bad song overall.
7/10

CARNIVORE – Race War

Tiamat pretty much diversified their sound from Wildhoney onwards.

I like the punk elements in that Carnivore song, but it's too slow without being sludgy enough - 6.5/10

mine, is a rec from hip hop bunny bop:-

Repulsion - Acid Bath

The drums and the guitars achieve an awesome level of intensity while still being catchy and fun. Excellent combination of hardcore and death metal. Reminds me of early Bathory on steroids.

I've never heard of Demigod but really enjoyed that and for some strange reason some of the instrumentals reminded me of 1970s Rush, but then again I've been drinking wine! 8/10.

I've always dug Tiamat, so here's another song by them on the thread.

^^i'm a new massive fan of Tiamat, so I'm biased - 8/10

Bolt Thrower - Cenotaph

amidst all the cheesy STG of Warhammer 40K (of which they got a license to use their artwork and stories), therein lies great death metal

A classic album and my second favourite from Bolt Thrower.
I love how they can go from a quicker pace to slower, almost doomy, Sabbath-like guitar riffs at times. Karl Willetts is also one of my favourite vocals and I love the fact that the lyrics are fairly clear while still being somewhat rough and brutal. Also the mix of the instruments in the production is absolutely perfect for this kind of dm.
They don’t make them like this anymore kids.. 9/10

One of my favourite USBM bands..
