Post-rock
Does anyone have any recommendations for rock/metal/whatever bands similar in style or feel to Mogwai, Godspeed you black emperor!, Explosions in the sky, Sigur Ros, etc?
|
Hmmm, maybe this would be more suited to the indie forum. Oh well I can always post it in both.
|
well, if you want post-rock bands-
Mouse on Mars Talk Talk Tortoise Trans Am Flying Saucer Attack M83 A Silver Mt. Zion Pale Faced Princess Slint AMPOP Cassette for cassette Cocteau Twins massive attack the silent league |
Massive Attack? Which albums do you mean?
I've heard Slint and Silver Mt. Zion but I'll look up some of the others. |
mezzanine is great post-rock.
|
I thought it was trip-hop. Not that I have a clear understanding of what it means to be either genre.

Mezzanine is pretty post rocky.
People should spend less time being anal about genres & open their ears "OMG A TRIP HOP BAND CAN`T PLAY POST ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" |
I`ve always thought M83 & Fourtet would qualify as post rock even though they`re both electronica.
|
genre alert, got no idea what would classify as "post rock" and frankly I don't care. Give us a sound to work with Joe.
