Nope

Guitar virtuosos are nothing special. Technical skill is absolutely useless if you have no sense of songwriting and creating interesting compositions. People like Buckethead and Yngwe Malmsteen are good for entertainment but when it comes to the best guitarist ever they aren't even in the same city as people like Jimmi Hendrix and Robert Fripp.

Not saying Buckethead is the best guitarist out there, but the guy has great creativity. If technicality improvises on such I think it's well worth noting.

Ya I think he is actually one of the more creative ones of all the super technical guitarists. I think he has a more unique style than people like vai or satch.

Technicality is creativity, not that he isn't "creative" in any other way applying to his musicianship.

Yeah, he's creative.

He's still nothing special in the grand scheme of things.

BH proves on his album Electric Sea that he is much more than just technical ability, in my opinion he puts even more emotion & heart into his music than both Hendrix and Fripp.

Nice too see that this thread is still somewhat going, the responses are polarized but I would expect nothing less when you´re discussing BH.

He has a lot of talent, but in my book Jimi Hendrix and Slash still are the best.

The bucket on his head doesn't really help; it just screams for too much attention and distracts me from his guitar.

How exactly is technicality creativity?

He uses the bucket to conceal his identity, I can only speculate but I would assume that its because he doesnt want his fame to affect his ordinary life. I love that about him. And isnt Slash in the same boat with his stupid top hat?

Buckethead is the only extremely technical guitarist I know that will make a super slow and relaxed album like Electric Tears. He doesn't feel the need to center his music around showing off his technical ability, he cares just as much about the feel and quality of the song. I love that about him.
