I'm pretty sure thats how it's gonna work out though, tickets at will-call and all. I've never been to one, so I'll be like a kid in a candy store. I'm really just excited to see my old friend. He's in AZ and I'm in IL. Last I saw him was in Germany in '89.

...and I'm running out of picks atm. I only have 3 sitting in my "studio" that I somehow manage to hang on to where ever I take them. I hope they last until July.
Van Halen was good. Had the kid on bass though, but it was good. 2010 for me. I would say make sure you don't stand in the line to get in on accident. I didn't realize there was a will call line on the other side of the building til it was too late. Other then that its gonna blow your mind certainly. And venture upstairs to check out the special booths by fender and gibson, they're unbelievable. Other then that its the biggest convention besides SEMA on the planet and is a really great time.

HEH lots of great people signing. Its more about the memoires then the swag. I bought a Taylor shirt at the last show. Name dropping me might get you a few picks. LOL

Not all time, but he's top 5 and probably the best, pure guitarist of the past 20 years.

Bumping this thread because the last post is almost three years old. Since that time, Buckethead's pike series has grown vastly. There are a handful of his pike releases that I absolutely love, and I'm curious about how many others on here appreciate his musicality....

Default Most definitely!

In fact two days ago I was driving to work. I have my iPod set to shuffle and hooked into my car stereo; as I approached the parking area a Praxis song came on... I decided to circle the grounds three times while it played out before I parked!

I dont know about "greatest".

I've been playing guitar since the 70s and I guess I just got tired of the shredding.
Some of this stuff is about as musical sounding as a dishwasher.

They all bore me, Malmsteen, Morse, Vai... I cant explain it. I should be thrilled with these guys, but I'm not.

So Buckethead falls into the same category with them. Unbelievably skilled but honestly, I'd rather listen to somebody who plays more slowly, with more melody.

Blackmore is the only real shredder I like anymore, and, even he gets tiresome... I was watching the Deep Purple DVD Come Hell or High Water, and its the same thing on every song - Blackmore playing so fast you cant even tell wtf he's doing, it sounds like a bee buzzing in the background.

There is no "greatest" in my opinion.... its al about what each person likes, and thats always gonna be different.

Definitely agree on the shredder wank being boring, but Buckethead is pretty diverse. Not that a lot of it isn't speed metal arpeggios, but still.
