Is deathcore even still a thing anymore? I mean, it's been years now, so shouldn't the whole thing have died down by now and gone onto the next thing? Honestly, I haven't been paying the slightest attention to what's "big" in metal these days, so I have no clue what the current trend is in mainstream/underground metal. Did I say "thing" enough times do you think?

The current trend now in "metal" is post-hardcore bull****. Not the good post-hardcore stuff like Touche Amore (they are like Isis is to metal) but rather the ****ty emo crabcore groups. Attack Attack, I See Stars, Abandon All Ships...the kind of bands that make all the girls wet at Warped Tour (and some of the weaker boys) |
Wait those are popular? I thought they were an even bigger joke than the deathcore bands.

Edit: forgot to mention the Contortionist. They are a good deathcore band |
Deathcore, Metalcore and all these different genres are what my life is about. I've been really tempted to go on the Mayhem Cruise in December, 2 of my favourite bands are playing there; Suicide Silence and Born Of Osiris. That cruise is going to go off unlike anything I can imagine.
Other bands that I really enjoy getting a slam on too are: Emmure, :( Despised Icon (R.I.P), The Plot In You, Parkway Drive, Chelsea Grin and loads more.. :) |

Or at least be in a better band.

I've been really into tech/prog metal recently. CiLiCe is absolutely phenomenal (at least I think so)!
