Batlord, that was the best Dillenger Escape Plan song I've heard. It was still horrible, however; the loud/soft dynamic nonsense, portions (such as the piano) added because "????", the horn section....
Also, was it just me, or was the production of that song pretty godawful? It sounded flat, like early Scott Burns productions, but without the fuzz or grime. Quote:
Really, the level of abbreviation with this subgenre is almost Soviet in it's frequency and intensity, and the fact that the fans can communicate effectively using it seems to be indicative of a sort of epistemic closure.

I'm not a big fan of all the ridiculous sentence long names either. They generally just seem to be an excuse to make a self consciously weird sounding name even though it's really just awkward. I mean, the first time I ever heard of Gay for Johnny Depp, sure I chuckled, but after that all I could think was, "Why would you want to call your band, Gay for Johnny Depp?"

I am not picky with any music really. I like Miss May I, As I Lay Dying, Of Mice & Men, The Devil Wears Prada and Haste The Day, just to name a few. Some love these bands, others hate them. Its what makes music so cool for me, the different tastes of people, just like a spectrum.

i also like this German metalcore callled "Caliban"
i really ought to get more stuff from them, they're also pretty underrated, I suppose and also i liked them in the days when I didn't even know what "metalcore" is - i chanced upon them on a metal program on the Asian equivalent of MTV |

With a lot of these bands nowadays, its you hear one, you've heard them all.
But in saying that, there are still a few good deathcore, metalcore, whatevercore bands out there. Parkway Drive, Killswitch Engage, Carnifex, Oceano, As Blood Runs Black, Suicide Silence, Unearth to name a few are some of my old regular listens. And even though im pretty much over this style of music, i still enjoy the odd ever so predictive and sometimes wanky breakdown. Also have to agree with the weird names some of these bands have. Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!, I Shot The Sheriff, Upon A Burning Body, Spider Killed Bananaman. I'm all for originality and standing out in a very overcrowded scene, but really?
