I've always heard it on their music, the Pantera influence is not watered down whatsoever. Could have been a stretch with the Iron Maiden, but the band has been brought to mind now and again when listening to Disturbed.

You want a good 70's type rock n roll album to jam Frownland? Go check out the albums by The Nightflight Orchestra, Soilwork singer fronts the band and I think you'll find yourself surprised.

I always thought they were going for a bastard lovechild of Pantera and Phil Collins without any of the technicality you would find in some Pantera songs. Add a dash of nu metal and you've got Disturbed.

Also, you're welcome for the image of Pantera and Phil Collins going at it.

That being said! I have the new Disturbed album too, but I did not buy it, it was 'gifted' to me. I've listened to it front to back, twice now, and it's not far beyond average, matter of fact it's just average. The Vengeful One was a song I felt was a lot better than many other songs in the bands catalog, and the new album does have other good tracks on it, but it failed to hold my attention, and it has been the case for me ever since their very first album hit my ears in middle school. Any way you slice it, Disturbed is an average band with capable musicians choosing to go the easy route of playing radio friendly music.

As for my recent Metal 'purchase', I have the new Soilwork album, The Ride Majestic. That's an album I can recommend.

You say all that and then post a Soilwork album? smh

Phil Collins is a great singer and musician in my mind. So that image could only be worse if you said something different.

Do you only say Phil Collins because Disturbed covered Land Of Confusion?

It's my style Batty. Say a bunch of stuff that makes sense, then wreck it all up by posting something someone else will find revolting to listen to. Can't say I don't got any good taste, because I like a lot of what you like too.

Suck it.

*facedesk* son you got some learning to do and it sounds like you've been misinformed by TH or his ilk.

Their singer has always sounded like Phil Collins trying to gain appeal by being metal.

I can forgive a lot of things, but I don't know if I can overlook claiming that Soilwork is a good band. It's just too much to ask of any man.

You may not like Phil Collins, his voice or his music, but he's talented. TH has not influenced that upon me, as that has always been my opinion of Phil Collins. TH has however influenced other things upon me not related.

David may bring Phil to mind with his singing, but it's not what I'd call prominent in his voice either. I think mostly, David sounds like himself, can't name any other singer in a band from 2000, nu-metal, that sounded like him.

You can be talented as all hell, but if you waste your talents on garbage music then you can't be a great musician in my eyes. I think Collins has had a lot of influence on the Disturbed singer tbh, not sure what else to say to justify it.

I never claimed they were good. I like them, but I think there are far better bands. I wouldn't call them good, because I honestly can only listen to them for only so long before I need to put on something else with more to it. I recommend their new album purely for those that are fans, not so much because the band is super great. Ask me next time about that Batty, that is before you assume my opinion on Soilwork and the quality of their music.

Go check out the singers other band, The Night Flight Orchestra. It's 70's throwback rock n' roll. Maybe you'll favor it over Soilwork. Here man...
