Tons of stuff, some of them I've talked about:

Bonded by Blood - Exodus
Time Does Not Heal - Dark Angel
Darkness Descends - Dark Angel
Demon Entrails - Hellhammer
Triumph of Death - Hellhammer
Tortured Existence - Demolition Hammer
Morbid Tales - Celtic Frost
The Force - Onslaught
Power From Hell - Onslaught
Bestial Devastation - Sepultra
Deathcrush - Mayhem
I.N.R.I. - Sarcó***o

Exodus isn't really that good, the singer for Dark Angel is annoying on both albums, Hellhammer is hit or miss, Demolition Hammer I haven't really listened to yet, Celtic Frost is nowhere near as entertaining as Hellhammer (occasionally) was, The Force is a bit tedious to listen but Power From Hell is awesome for the most part; Sepultra is very similar to Slayer but they tend to be quite repetitive, though Necromancer and Warriors Death is cool; and I.N.R.I. is hands down the most brutal sounding album I've ever heard. Nightmare use to be the most brutal song I had ever heard until I heard "Chainsaw Guts****" from Mayhem's Deathcrush.

EDIT: lol, I remembered more. I know I said I wasn't interested in buying Slayer albums, but I decided to buy Hell Awaits and Reign in Blood by Slayer. Also I guess I can include Metallica's first six albums, Megadeth's first three releases, and Bathory's first three albums as I got those in the mail only recently.

Jesus. And I thought I used to spend a lot on albums. And I'd suggest going as far as Bathory's first six albums. Starting with album four, Hammerheart, they had one of the most extreme and amazing changes in sound I've ever heard for a metal band.

Awesome! Good for you; exiting the iTune/mp3 era and going back to the good old days of sludging through every song on the album! I'm glad I didn't grow up in this new era of only downloading one song you know you like, because I wouldn't have known about the other gems you can find here and there.

Speaking of songs that are just the essential ones, greatest hit albums has a great deal to be talked about. Like when you go and try a new band through their greatest hits, you often cannot find a song that you might have liked more than those that are the most popular. Iron Maiden has a song I don't believe that you can find on a compilation: Flash of the Blade - my favorite track by them!

So, in closing, you cannot fathom just how much good stuff will be missing if you only buy particular tracks... Thank you for reading

We both spelled it wrong. That's hilarious.

I've never liked buying greatest hits albums. For me, most of the time it would be a waste of money because 90% of the time, if I'm interested in a band enough to feel like buying a greatest hits, I usually just skip that and listen to the key albums.

If I'm not that interested in a band, I'll buy a couple of songs and be done with it.

Oh and just so we are clear, more than 90% of the time I buy full albums. Recently, there's so much music I want to listen to I tend to buy digital just because it's easier/faster, but I like the CD for the quality, even if I don't directly care about the quality of my music. I learned that listening to the full album yields you finding songs that you would have never found if you had just bought a greatest hits album. I learned that with bands like Daft Punk that have a lot of different songs on their albums and I know a lot of songs that most Daft Punk listeners have no clue about. Also, there's some "greatest hits" songs by Daft Punk that I think are absolute crap, yet songs that are no where near as popular that I love and adore and I attribute that to listening to the full albums. /end ridiculously long tangent.

Sepultura. See. I can't spell it correctly when I believe it should be I can't believe I did that, though.

I have a fair share of compilations/greatest hits. But when it comes to certain genres, I prefer the whole albums. And when it comes to the oldies, it is hard to find individual albums, so greatest hits is what I get.

I don't normally buy digital online stuff. I have a few songs from Amazon, but no more than ten.

You know, I've seen a couple of those albums in stores. But I hesitate because I don't know what they sound like. It sounds like another band I need to youtube...

Everyone likes tangents. If they say they don't - they're lying!

My brother recently got me Skillets Rise and Comatose albums. They were his but he decided he'd give them to me since he doesn't listen to them to much to want them. Yay for me! (Not really a purchase I know, but close enough!)

For some reason I thought the title said metal and rock haha.

An opportunity to indoctrinate someone into Daft Punk? I accept that challenge in stride.

Spoiler for Around the World:
This is quintessential Daft Punk. It has looped lyrics characteristic of the house genre.

Spoiler for Fresh:
This is a fairly different, very progressive song, without lyrics. One of my personal favorite Daft Punk songs.

Spoiler for Voyager:
This is another song without lyrics, also different, more dance-oriented with an overpowering bass line.
