I could say "What took you song long" with the Ride the Lightning album, but then I'd have to say the same about Overkill for myself for I only got that one within the last year, I believe

I picked up the new Saliva album this past week and when I listened to it I had to look again. Now they sound just like all the other radio friendly clones like Nickelback and Saving Abel. I also picked up Leah - Of Earth And Angels and Lunatica - Fables & Dreams.

Metal Church - S/T
Excister - Heavy Metal Maniac The Sword - Age of Winters Children of Bodom - Hate Crew Deathpoll Cannibal Corpse - Butchered at Birth Murder Squad - Unsane, Insane and Mentally Deranged Death - Symbolic - The Sound of Perseverance Deicide- S/T Meshuggah - Destroy Erase Improve Hawkwind - Hall of the Mountain Grill (this has Lemmy before Motorhead) Mott The Hoople - All the Young Dudes (not metal, no, but the progression towards it) Do you just buy tracks one at a time...? I've only done this when it's the only song available, or when I can't afford the whole thing. So, I'm not knocking it, but with bands like Slayer, I'd get the whole album. On CD. That's just me, though. |

Also "A.I.R.," "Metal Thrash Mad," and "I'm Eighteen" by Anthrax. I've basically embraced thrash metal completely and totally. I see very little point in buying an entire Slayer album. Most of their songs sound very similar, and I've done just fine buying a handful of songs. Show No Mercy was a great album and I bought that entire album..on CD of course. |

Same is said about Kill 'Em All, or thrash in general, for that matter. But I assume you've heard the rest of the songs on those albums? I like to buy full albums because there are times where I only like a few songs from a particular album but upon future listens I started to like them all. Exactly what happened with Kill 'Em All; I used to feel that that was the worst one of the bunch, but until I started to really listen to the other tracks, not just Seek and Destroy, Hit the Light, or Jump in the Fire, I began to think it was a pretty good album. So, you might think that just getting the songs you liked is a good idea, but that might cut your future tastes down to size.
