some of my favorites before the big guys get metioned
Asunder (with Dino the drummer from Dystopia.....simply put beyond epic and with Cello!!!!.....listening to this makes me wish i had hair) Thorr's Hammer (probably my favorite of the pre-sunn0))) bands....so 17 year old exchange student befriends a couple Sabbath lovin' dorks and thus begins the epic relationship of Anderson and O'Malley....on top of the fact seriously few vocalist....man or woman can reach such an absurd vocal range!!!!) Corrupted (i caught these guys live with Asunder a few years back and they were amazing.....i think they only did one 62 minutes track.....almost all of their albums are one track) Nadja (amazing drone/dome with a sort of multi instrument shoegazy fuzzyness.....this duo puts out albums seemingly every ten minutes) Ahab (doom metal and Moby Dick......there is nothing that can wrong with that combination!!!!) |

.. Or even humorous and educational. Black Debbath can teach you about norwegian traditional costumes.

Anyway, this is great and I've never listened to them before. And while I love some of the 'big guys' I probably don't need any more Doom Metal now that I have this.
