Dimmu Borigr doesn't play inverted power chords therefore = not Black Metal.

Chords aren't whats an issue. Do you play guitar? and I haven't memorized any Dimmu Borgir songs but the ones i bothered to look up didn't contain any. I'm not great at guitar (don't get me wrong they aren't bad musicians) so I doubt I could play just by looking.

Snickers by inverted i mean

standard
----
----
----
-3-3
-3-3
-1-1

inverted
----
----
----
-1-1
-3-3
-3-3

hard to explain online but that should.

and wyldchild. i'm confused by your last 2 lines...

i can see where you're coming with Opeth, in some of their earlier albums they have a black-ish tinge too them... but not really with Deicide at all...

they have added more melodic (almost synonymous with radio-friendly in metal) elements, with recent albums, to their music. in essence what you have is a watered-down form black metal. black metal was never intended to be listener friendly, really. kinda like what happened to punk/hardcore.

...do you know what an inverted power chord is?
