Dimmue Borgir isn't black metal. Mayhem is black metal and black metal sucks. listen to real music.

reason, Dimmu Borgir besides being really heavy they have an orchestra playing in some of their stuff, not always a full orchestra but harps and pianos and all that stuff. They mix heavy with calm and it sounds f666ing nice. Check out Mourning Palace and Perfectiopn or Vanity and you'll see what i mean. The drumming is prety sweet to.
BLOODY SENSATIONAL ISN'T IT?? TRY THE SONG CALLED
(In Death's Embrace).

DIMMU ARE BLACK METAL AS ARE MAYHEM.
I met the guys from Mayhem on there Australian tour with the band I roadie for (Chalice) and they said they considered Dimmu Borgir as well as themselves black metal. The Mayhem boys are really nice guys funnily enough lol

Dimmu Borgir isn't black metal. and I guess i should clarify. the only original member of Mayhem still in the band is Hellhammer the drummer. They've changed too.

Black Metal uses inverted power chords, a complete lack of melody, and utterly blasphemous lyrics. Dimmu Borgir fulfills one of those criteria. if anything DB can be considered a cross between Death Metal and Industrial. I like some of the string arrangements but can't stand the voice nor the lyrics (not that you can hear them anyway)

For your information most modern black metal bands do have a extreme amount of melody.
It's kind of half of what black metal is.
Whether it's Guitar solos,Keyboards, flutes,String arrangements or a good ole symphony in the mix.
(Even Mayhem have melodies!!!)lol

Burzum are melodic as!!
What the hell are you talking about Black metal's all about melody, brutality and normaly dark, or gothic themes.
Even Venom had that stuff.

You are not listening to Black Metal than if it had melody.

Venom's album "Black Metal" contained nothing that could be considered melody.

Dimmu Borigr doesn't play inverted power chords therefore = not Black Metal.

face it.
