I'll confess to liking it. I'll never criticize Lou for going out on the ledge with his work; even when I don't follow it, he still manages to ooze creativity. I haven't listened to Metallica in...well...probably about 20 years, and they sounded pretty muted to me on Lulu, at least from what I really remember of them. Together, oddly, I think it just worked.

It keeps them both in the spotlight-the originals bands working together.. has surely got to be better (more interesting) than having selected works by either artist turned into ballads on certain tv shows

Really now? That's interesting.
Come on, think it through... Metallica Lou Reed Do you really think these mix? Because I really think that the Metallica who played songs like Master of Puppets and Fuel would've sooner beat Lou Reed's ass than stood in the same studio with him.

I truly doubt that. The members of Metallica are unabashed music geeks and always have been. I wouldn't be at all surprised if mid-80s Metallica were massive Lou Reed fans. He is, after all, the godfather of punk.

and i doubt the musical taste of anyone who says they liked this album
besides Metallica or Lou Reed fanboys, ultra-hipsters or just rebelling, are there any people who genuinely liked it? |

I really tried because I like Lou, but this was too much.
