Tommy was a very gifted Guitarist who had a major impact on his fans and peers alike, just ask Glenn Hughes.

Tommy Bolin died from a Heroin overdose on December 4, 1976 at aged 25 in a Miami Hotel after opening for Jeff Beck.

Tommy`s performances have been recorded on several live albums and a lot of compilations but I suggest avoiding those and stick with his studio work....In my opinion Tommy`s 1976`s "Private Eyes" is his very best.

Zephyr (from 1969 to 1971)
Zephyr (1969)

The James Gang (1973 to 1974)
Bang (1973)
Miami (1974)

Tommy Bolin / Solo
Teaser (1975)
Private Eyes (1976)

Deep Purple (1975 to 1976)
Come Taste the Band (1975)

He defiantly sounds interesting enough to give him a listen, always been a fan of Joe Walsh (James Gang) anyway. ;)

Its sad, he died from a Heroin overdose at such a young age (25).

Sounds like he was on his way, if not already there, as an accomplished guitarist.

You don`t already know Tommy Bolin, shame on you! Along with Paul Kossoff he was probably one of the most revered guitarists of his generation. He`s easily the best thing on the Deep Purple Come Taste The Band album.

severely underrated

he could've been a giant of mighty stature

you can hear this on Billy Cobham's Spectrum - nvm the accusations that he was ripping off McLaughlin or whatnots
