I have to say, some of the comments on that article are cracking me up, particularly this one:

Best comment I read was, Courtney Love is the Yoko Ono of our Generation. Can't say I was a fan of the Reunion or Eddie Vedder singing with Pink Floyd. These charity things always get to Kumbaya for my taste. Hope they raised a ton of money though, and can give some back instead of lining IRS pockets.

Oh good lord. So McCartney wasn't satisfied in being in just one of the most over hyped bands in the history of music, so he has to join another?

i was actually thinking about that last night
although i actually really like both bands....i think it's ironic that one from possibly the most argued about band in history gets together with two from the second most argued about...and are joined by a has been nobody who's only claim to fame is having played very shitty guitar in the germs....and then latyer playing on the worst thing Nirvana ever put out well i just watched the link provided in "the other" thread and it fucking sucked....in many ways i think them coming out and doing something as typical as Smells Like Teen Spirirt would have been more enjoyable.....what they did had no purpose at all.....kind of like Lou Reed "jamming" with Metalica |

I can't even watch Mccartney do Beatles songs anymore, the plastic surgery hes had makes him un-watchable. The Germs certainly had some good songs, and I found Lexicon Devil to be a pretty outstanding lesson in the late 70's early 80's history of them and a good read.

Oh Nirvana for sure, i'll admit.. Pear jam, STP AIC and Soundgarden are better bands or at least have better music arrangements but i like Nirvana songs better.
Kurt made very simple songs and Nirvana influenced alot of kids to start a band. i think in that list the most influential band is Nirvana. i still remember, the first Nirvana song that i liked wasn't 'Teen spirit' it was 'Even in his youth' that was the first song ever that made want to be a musician |
