Mudhoney every day of the week, they define grunge in every way, i'm a huge nirvana fan and were lucky enough to see them live a few times however mudhoney's raw and unpolished sound on superfuzz bigmuff is thee album that all other bands of that era could only wish they could have made.

Stone Temple Pilots isn't even from Washington State, why the **** are they on there?

Screaming Trees would be one of my favorite local grunge bands over here.

Because they were better than half the bands on the list.

They were better than Alice In Chains and Pearl Jam, but other than that, I'd take the other bands over STP. Though Purple was pretty awesome.

STP better than PJ and AIC? Wow. I couldn't disagree more. STP were trash compared to those bands, but that's just me.

They may have been a cheap rip off band, but Pearl Jam were just totally dull after Ten, and AIC were just a second rate sludge band with boring arena rock tendencies. At least STP did their ripping off well.

Scott Weiland makes me cringe. Boring arena rock would be exactly how I would describe STP, Not PJ or AIC.

Exactly.

I admit, I prefer acoustic AIC, but what AIC songs would be considered arena rock? I've never really seen them in that way.

PJ can get pretty boring and my biggest problem with them is inconsistency. What I like from them is really great but it's hard to listen to a full album.

Songs like "The Rooster" come off as arena rock to me. Just that whole big sound thing. I'm not married to calling them arena rockish, though.

And acoustic AIC is definitely head and shoulders over their other stuff. The first half of Jar of Flies is just perfect.
