I'm not even being contrary also, I honestly think its better then Nevermind. Nevermind for the most part is a pop record. Certainly some well written songs and some angsty rock, but I love the distorted, unperfected sound of Bleach.

In my opinion, I personally think Issac Brock is a great lyricist. His singing style, in my opinion, is really unusual. I really admire their skill as musicians, but they are an acquired taste. I didn't really enjoy This Is A Long Drive, tbh. The Lonesome Crowded West is pretty good (some people completely rave about it, but I couldn't totally get into it). M&A is amazing, imo. Johnny Marr played some guitar for their latest studio album, 'We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank', which is a great album.

If Moon & Antartica would've been of the 90's I might've considered choosing them over Soundgarden, but neigh. I really do enjoy Lonesome Crowded West, although it wasn't easy to get into, I haven't listened to Long Drive yet cos it somehow doesn't seem very appealing. There's lot sof other stuff I should listne to so I just don't get around to it.
I can imagine why people don't like them though, Isaac Brock's voice can be pretty terrible and their early style isn't meant for everyone's ears I guess. However, I do think their rhythm section is pretty nice, some of their songs have really smooth drum rolls. |

In terms of the actual album production though, it is overrated. In terms of influence, I doubt so.

Logically you're implying that the first album that a person hears/loves by a certain band should always be their favorite album by the band and never be considered overrated by that person. Clearly unsound logic. Personally, I think all of Nirvana's albums are pretty great and I think they are properly merited.
