As for OK Computer: For one, I haven't heard an album quite like it, let alone one that was better than OKC, and two, I am a Radiohead fanboy so bias is present. I know that ain't right but it is that way. |

The masses are not really going to dig all the other grunge albums that you're probably referring to, as they don't have the pop melodies of Nevermind weaved into them. The general populace like something with melody, something they can sing and hum to as well. For that reason alone Nevermind was groundbreaking. As said before, I think its one of the best and most important albums ever recorded, even though they are not my favourite grunge band. BTW I don't think Bleach is anything special.

Sure. I find their rythym section generic. I think the singer has a very average dull voice. I gave them every chance to like them, my friend is a devout fan and has burned their stuff for me. Its just not my thing. I think they are terrible, thats just my opinion. They have a great following for an indie band. I have the same problem with Jimmy Eat World. But anyway enough of that.
I've heard This is a long drive, The lonesome crowded west, and The moon and Antarctica. I understand Johnny Marr was added at a later date for their rythym section, so maybe i missed the albums he was a member of. |
