Yea sorry BMF. The later albums were disappointing. It voided their raw loud drive and garage aspects which became less energetic. Chris was great with his grating bellowing voice and Kim's echoing and sludgy kind riffs were groundbreaking. Matt Cameron added a nice drum roll too.
Their later stuff lost that which eventually became a shadow after they turned all romanticised and poetically crap that was nothing more than mediocre. Yes Chris can sing with a soft touch, but it doesn't yank you out as well as it did before.

I used to be a hardcore Nirvana fan boy too. A part of me still is, because of the memories attached to them... but come on, to say they aren't in the same league as Mudhoney or Tad .... is a sin.
"Superfuzz Bigmuff" to me, even though I love Nirvana, is a better seminal release in their style than "Bleach" was. "Touch Me, I'm Sick" is the essential grunge anthem. Personally I will take Sub Pop Mudhoney over Sub Pop Nirvana (if we are discussing this, we must mention the label that is most associated with the music of that era) Same goes with "God's Balls" by Tad. That record is in a league ahead of "Bleach" as well. I mean, as much as I love Nirvana, I do not think they were the greatest thing in the world anymore.
