Well I think Bush are one of the worst bands to have come out of the UK.

They sold more records, they were taken more seriously in the press, they sold more magazines by appearing on covers. No doubt that Pearl Jam sold a lot of records but then so did Nickleback.

Vedder is just a pretender, always has been always will be. By about 1996 most of the world outside the US had stopped caring about them.
Your argument is invalid.

In the US, Pearl Jam destroy Nirvana in album sales. Even if Nirvana sold more records in small countries like the UK or France, it's not a big number.

I hate Nirvana and their corporate rock. They were just another MTV band who made tons of videos and radio-friendly songs.

Pearl Jam play arenas/stadiums worldwide, so the people still care about them.

There are several invalid remarks there. Nirvana only made three studio albums, so the comparison is unfair.

Nirvana weren't corporate rock, they were unwillingly adopted to be marketed to millions on Nevermind, In Utero was their own personal response to this, do you really think the bulk of In Utero sounds like a commercial record?

True Pearl Jam have a very loyal fanbase, but then again a lot of other similiar bands also do.

This is just factually wrong. Nirvana has sold more albums than Pearl Jam in the US.

You obviously don't remember the early 90s because you have this backwards. Neither Pearl Jam nor Nirvana were playing a style of music that was particularly corporate when they first came to prominence. It was these bands that changed the nature of what popular rock music was at the time to such an extent that people like yourself now look back and think it somehow always was that way.

Kurt Cobain had trouble with his image. He thought he was misinterpreted. The reason why they made In Utero was to challenge that.

I get the distinct impression that Pearl Jam is seemingly more popular in the UK than they are here in the US. I just dont like or see PJ over AIC.

I'd say they were far more popular in the US, most people I know here dislike them.
