I have found myself liking everything Urban Hatemonger says since I've joined this forum. He has a great taste in music and certainly knows what he's talking about, just wanted to point that out.

I don't like Alice In Chains, I could almost say I despise Nirvana, this whole era basically was over-marketed, low-talent crap for the most part. All just main stream bull ****. Once again, for the MOST PART. Not all was like that.

Out of the poll choices I would have to go with Soundgarden because they are the only band I'm very familiar with and don't dislike. They're ok i guess.

It's sad when someone thinks they are one of the weaker bands.

I'm going with Nirvana, I actually really like them. Pearl Jam are pretty awful, Soundgarden are just all right, I only dig Alice in Chains acoustic stuff, and the rest of the bands I haven't heard enough from to form an opinion on.

Oh wow, I thought it was one of those leftover shots from when Garth Brooks tried to go all 'rock' with a fake name. Chris Gaines maybe?

If you're going to make a statement like that how about actually backing it up with relevant examples and statements to help broaden the rest of our horizons. Please explain to me how the scene was over-marketed, low talent, mainstream BS, 'for the most part'. Who were the acts that circumvented the superficial fame for the sake of their artistic integrity?

Talking of Shania Twain, this is a great piece of pop and she sure looks hot as well.

To an extent I have to agree, grunge in general was plagued by poor musicianship and poor vocalists.

Strange that, when you consider Eddie Vedder, Chris Cornell and Scott Weiland are three of the best hard rock vocalists of the last 20 years or so

Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and a certain Dave Grohl also really knew to play their instruments as well!

Yeah, I wouldn't say they were plagued by poor vocalists...I think grunge bands were plagued with imitators of some of the bigger grunge bands.

These mostly come under the post-grunge moniker.
