Nice to see another SCM fan around! They'd definitely be my pick for best "90s Seattle Era" band too!

I know arent they amazing? Too bad grunge completely deflected all attention away from them, they never really got the respect they deserved... Whats your favorite album by them? Mine has to be a tie between The Inner Experience & This Timeless Turning.

Tough call there. Exit at the Axis was what got me into them so that has always had a special place in my heart. Aside from that, I guess I'm in the same boat as you. I love both This Timeless Turning and A Return to the Inner Experience for very different reasons. This Timeless Turning is the more consistent album imo, but A Return to the Inner Experience, while sort of uneven, has some of their best songs. Fresh Fruits for the Liberation is really cool too. Since it's a collection of various unrelated tracks (I think) it's pretty all over the place, but love how different some of the tracks are from their usual stuff. Moonbathing on Sleeping Leaves has always been my least favorite, but that still has some good songs as well.

Its between Alice In Chains and Soundgarden since they are the most metal and the best of the bands. Im leaning towards AIC though as Cantrell had some very good riffs.

Have you seen the acoustic set for Alice In Chains. They gained so much respect from me when I saw that. It's amazing.

He said he already liked Alice In Chains. I wasn't starting him on it, I was recommending something that I thought was good.

I sorta agree with the above statements. I really like AIC, I really do, but aside from Jar of Flies and a few songs here and there ("Man In a Box", "Would", "Down In a Hole", etc) they're just good, not truly great. Kinda generic, Layne Staley's voice can sound kinda campy and overdone at times, and a lot of times the whole dark sound they're going for doesn't really come through and all you have is some decent sludgy riffs.
