So are AIC stadium rock or not? Seemingly not based on the general consensus here. But we do know they're boring, but for some strange reason people still keep on voting for them!
Oh so sorry, I have been a bit mean on Mudhoney, so yer they are worthy of a place on the poll. Now let me get back to listening to my ELO albums.

I've given my definition of what I regard stadium rock to be, agree with it or disagree with it I don't really care.
Now I'll ask for about the 5th time if you are going to pick apart or debate my original post can we get over the ****ing boring endless tedium that is this ****ing pointless genre debate and actually get to the point of it instead.

People have made points other than just disputing your claim on what stadium rock is. Blastingas just commented on how he appreciated their folky stuff--thus testifying to their diversity as a band. He also mentioned Mad Season, whom I've heard of but never listened to...better get on that.

I do not not really care what you wanna brand em. call em whatcha will. I just like to listen.
To me AiC had some moments of greatness. Not saying they blow me away as much as they did when i first heard em at about 11 or 12. But they still hold nostalgia for me.

I think their music can fit into a few categories. But it's irrelevant, theyre aic, and to me they are a pretty unique band. I will admit that they dont appeal to me as much as they did when I was younger, nor do I listen to them very much anymore. But I still think they're great and when I occasionally put on AIC unplugged, I'm still pretty impressed.
I don't at all see how AIC is stadium rock. If any of these bands are stadium rock, it's stp then pearl jam. If you haven't listened to mad season, you need to. They're great. Layne staley, mike Mccready, Barrett Martin - they're the seattle supergroup. And although they only put out one album, it was a great. Last edited by blastingas10; 04-01-2012 at 07:42 PM. |

Mad Seasons were alright. One of the better things Staley did besides AiC.
Well, only other project I can think of: Glad this was only a one shot deal, just not that good.

I have to say, I always thought AiC had the potential to be an absolutely amazing band, but imo, they rarely played to their strengths. They really weren't very good at rocking out, but unfortunately it was something they tried to do a lot. I preferred them slow and depressing like this:

^ I agree with you there. Although I do like a lot of their rockier tunes, it's the more mellow tracks that I adore.
People can talk about the likes of Mudhoney who have always bored me, but of those on the list, AIC have more of a place in my heart simply because their songs sound so personal and they aren't just about screaming and playing loudly.
