I was just reading how the Melvins influenced the Seattle bands like Nirvana, Alice In Chains, and Soundgarden.
It went on to also suggest they also influenced the band "Tool". Ive never actually listened to them, what genre would you suggest best categorizes their sound? |

How can you not like layne staleys voice? He had an amazing voice. There was so much power in it. AIC had a sense of humor. Ever heard the song "iron gland"? And if you've seen their unplugged set, they clearly have a sense of humor there. Jerry does a little country tune for a minute and then laughs about it. Then they poke a little fun at metallica, who was sitting in the front row.
Doesn't seem to be any nirvana fans here. I still think they were pretty good. Maybe overrated, but still good. |
