I just catorgise Alice In Chains with another of my personal favorites Judas Priest.

These are two bands that I can listen to their individual albums in its entirety. Without skipping songs. Just about all their materiel is good rock.

Nirvana was a great band and would have continued to be good for years after. Though they were never able to overcome the loss of Kurt. AIC overcame the loss of Lane and proved they can still make very good music without him. So my vote would have to be for AIC

to be fair, Nirvana didn't really continue after Kurt's demise

if they did and Grohl became the frontman, they'd be the Foo Fighters, I guess

Its amazing, how it still clicks for AIC after 13 years, and I think all the credit goes to Jerry Cantrell, who has always been underrated both on guitar and vocals.

Ive been saying this, concerning Cantrell, ever since this thread was started in '08.

Grunge has fluctuated in different ways since its '91 debut. It actually went dormant for around a ten year period.

Nirvana was the all around pick and undisputed favorite in '08. Then Soundgarden retained the #1 spot for awhile. Mainly because of the fact that Chris Cornell is one of the all-time greatest rock vocalist in rock history.

Pearl Jam is a band that has, just simply hung in there, and Eddie Vedder is considered by some, as the modern version of Jim Morrison.

But in my personal opinion, Alice and Chains has always been the best band out of them all, since they formed in 1987. Especially beginning with their '92 release of Dirt.

Those people are either retarded, or totally ignorant.

I don't thin AIC is near as good as they used to be. At least their new music. But there were some good songs on that new album. Jerry is awesome. "Killer is me" is a great song.

This is probably one of the reasons for all the hype, as to why Eddie Vedder would ever be considered anything other, than just as the lead singer for Pearl Jam.

"In July 2007, Densmore said that he would not rejoin The Doors unless it was fronted by Eddie Vedder. Densmore said, "I play with Jim. If there's someone of that level, OK. I'm not gonna join them with Ian. That's not to diss Ian, he's a good singer - but he's no Jim Morrison. Eddie Vedder? My God, there's a singer." Vedder previously performed three Doors songs with Manzarek, Krieger, and Densmore at the 1993 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony".

Manzarek

I personally, prefer Ian Astburys vocals (Cult) over Eddie Vedder.

I haven't listened to anything with their new vocalist to be honest. Saving it for a rainy day.
