whatever ya wanna call it or lump it into what ya want, it did have a definitive sound.

STP is just meh anyways. No matter what you call em, they were just another mainstream mainstay genric band who cashed in on Pearl Jam's success.

And where do you get the notion they cashed in on Pearl Jams success? They were no more mainstream or generic than Pearl Jam was in the 90s.

because they were just a Pearl Jam clone, their success came after Pearl Jam's. Pretty much all alternative bands either cashed in on Nirvana or Pearl Jam's success.

STP is really no better than Creed for taking after Pearl Jam's lead.

I agree as well.

I respect your opinion Brother, but they sounded nothing like Pearl Jam to me personally. I always thought that STP was one of the only bands from that particular genre and era that actually evolved with a different sound later on in the 90s than they originally had in the early 90s.

I do agree with you concerning Creed, I thought they always sounded like a generic version of Pearl Jam and that was the main reason I never really cared for them.

yeah, i do not mind Core for what it is, Purple had a few good songs on it, everything after was just awful to me.

I always say Scott should keep doing drugs, he needs them to do anything of remote interest.

Their third album "Tiny Music...." is a good album and very Beatles inspired if you like that type of thing and "No.4" has some good stuff on it

I liked No.4 as well, Sour Girl was their most popular single after Core & Purple.

I would actually have to go back and listen to Tiny Music in order to verse an opinion, since I haven't actually listened to anything by STP for years.

the lyrics on Tiny Music kill it for me. Some of the worst songwriting I have ever heard. Scott needs drugs.

I went with Alice in chains, I've been jamming Dirt pretty frequently lately. I really like the bleak tone of their music.
