I know a few dudes i know will go online and try to find a really underground or obscure band, that are barely even known, and will buy their shirts and wear them in an attempt to look like they are really into the underground and "Oh look at me, im wearing THIS bands shirt, i know my music, etc etc" and will wear them to shows.
Pretty sad that you have to go to that level though. as for wearing band shirts, yeah i wear my pantera shirts a lot. I was at a servo one day and this big dude comes at and yells at my face "PAN-FUKCING-TERAAAAAA" pretty fun experience

T shirts have and always be my favourite attire and I wear them all year round and if it displays a band I like then so be it. I certainly don't pay over the odds for a T shirt and I care for the design of a T shirt before I buy.
I generally don't wear hoodies (I only own one - Motorhead) and don't wear traditional shirts, jumpers (pullovers) or anything like that either. Many people don't wear band T shirts and I get that completely but for myself the layout of the T shirt is a major factor for me. Latest buys (awaiting delivery from Ebay) : I like the fact that the album cover is in B & W as the original album is a horrible pink colour. Again love the design of it and they are both white. I have far too many black T shirts.
