Yup. Even worse were the sweat shirts. Well, they CALLED them sweatshirts: they were basically just larger, slightly heavier shirts with full sleeves, but the transfers on them were as crappy as the ones on the t-shirts. Ah, the inner satisfaction of going around with a tour on your back that you had never been to, nor had any chance of. "Death on the road '84?" I wish! Maiden only visited Ireland twice, and I had to go to London to see both Marillion and Hawkwind!

Also, who remembers those crappy patches we all used to wear, with our favourite bands on them? No doubt about it, metalheads had to know how to sew! Ma, can you put this on my jacket? What's that supposed to be? A devil? Who's he? And so on... Never mind, I'll do it myself. Can't be that hard. OW! Bloody needles! OW!

And finally, who can forget the metal pin-badges? Specially the shaped ones? I remember I had a great one for "Rainbow Rising" --- damn that was a great badge!

these days you can get prints off the Internet on T-shirts

a shop in a shopping mall near me does that

i'm thinking of putting some utterly bizarre and disgusting like the Dwarves' album covers

^uh why not just go to the Dwarves website and by a shirt directly from them?

they have the Blood Guts and Pussy album cover on a shirt with "fuck you up and get high" printed on the back

I find awesome band tees from thriftstores, and they always look vintage. My latest find was an Incubus tee shirt.

I used to have loads of t-shirts from gigs I went to in the early to mid 90's. One such one being from my first ever concert - Metallica at the Birmingham NEC in '90. I picked up a t shirt for about £10 with 'In Vertigo You Will Be' and the tour dates on the back. Wore it and wore it and threw it out.

I saw one on ebay the other day for around $90 (£55 approx).

Hindsight's a wonderful thing, isn't it?
