@Batlord, what a great album Transcendence is

Following on from their great debut album, came another classic album from these mask wearing metallers from Florida and what a great vocalist Midnight was, a long forgotten great. Didn`t post any YouTube vids as some from this album have already been posted.

And what an awesome album cover too. Just the right amount of 80s cheese, sci fi awesomeness, and pretty colors.

Its a real travesty that Crimson Glory didn`t achieve any real fame.

Savatage are about as cheesy as it gets, what Fates Warning stuff you got? because early Fates Warning is very different to their mid and late era stuff.

Now this another power metal gem, moving further away from their thrashy roots, Metal Church recruited a new vocalist in Mike Howe and imo better suited as a power metal vocalist than David Wayne, Mike Howe just sounds so good on this album, that his vocal performance ranks up there as one of the outstanding vocal performances on any power metal album that I`ve heard. I doubt many other power metal albums can match this power metal masterpiece.

I've actually never listened to Metal Church after The Dark. I will have to amend this. I was planning on it already anyway.

I`ve put up a number of need to hear albums by Helstar but this is the pick of the bunch and as the name suggests a concept based around Nosferatu.

Helstar Nosferatu 1989

Mike Howe sounds very similiar to Rob Halford at times and the album is the perfect marraige between thrash and power metal, below a great track off the album.

Its the piddly-piddly stuff that I love when Ray Alder took over on vocals, but I really like Dream Theater, so its obvious I`m really going to like mid to late period Fates Warning
