New Metallica = Corporate A$$Holes.
Old Metallica = Inspiration to the World of Rock

I can see why people like them and why people dislike them. I have had some limited exposure to them and their music (including watching the "Cliff 'Em All" video), and I'm just not impressed. I have one of their CD's (the Black Album), but only because I found it in a dumpster. To me they seem like one of those bands that have just lived too long and are seemingly in it for the money.

sigh...listen there is nothing to argue about, with limited exposure you can't judge, and they are one the greatest bands to ever preform. See a live show.

thank god for the band coz the vocalist does them no favors, his voice sux, its the same tone for eeeeeeeevvvvvvvvreeeerrrry single song. that same boring growl. Why couldnt they have someone interesting on vocals, someone that complements the music a little bettter. Because Metallica is actually a great band until that guy starts singing

Default The Person that wrote that is the biggest fish of all time

I've got to stick up for my bands m8. Metallica are one of the greatest bands of all time. Their music is ****en awsome. U know it, and i know it. Why would u rip them off. I"m sure if they knew about your post they'd send their monkey minions (which they paid for by ****ing up napster) and hell beasts to kill u. There are plenty of other p2p networks going. Napster is gone. GET THE **** OVER IT. metallica are rich because they are penny picking bastards. AS ALL RICH PPL ARE. You'd have to be, wouldnt ya. They make money for their music, AND THEY DESERVE EVERY LAST CENT OF IT. All opposers of metallica must end up in the depths of hell where cliff burton (dead metallica bassist) and bon scott (Dead ACDC Singer) will whip your arse and drive u to slavery for all eternity bitches.

Finally, **** you! Try it bitches, come after me, I am after all OF WOLF AND MAN!

P.S. "that guy" (James Hetfield) that sings does good for a metal band. Tell me (and i'd be happy to know and would take it in if you could tell me) how someone complements a metal band. isnt it all yelling and screaming with occassional voiced parts. Hardy singing in the first place. LOL.

Well, I believe I have enough exposure to them to judge. I just meant that I wasn't some huge fan. That video had plenty of live performances on it (which were boring to me). I don't think going to one of their shows would change my mind, plus I wouldnt want to pay for it. I don't really find their music that exciting either. Vocals are not my type and are slightly repetitive. I also think that alot of their songs are too similar to each other, but if I liked their sound, I'm sure I would be glad for that. A couple of their guitar intros are cool, but other than that, its mostly blah to me. As I said, I can see why people like them, but I just don't. I'm not trying to join this flamewar, I'm just posting my opinion.

i think they were metal up untill and justice for all, then they started to definetly tone down, possibly due to lack of boozing it up like they did in the old days. Kill em All, Ride the Lightning, and Master of Puppets are i think some of the best metal back then. Not the hardest, and not even the tightest (the back and forth solos were pretty choppy back then, they tried to keep up with bands like Slayer, and even if they were equally as talented which i dont think they were, they werent as tight as slayer was). I still think that metallica now days are overrated because people still think of them as the music they started out making which is nothing like the garbage they put out now.
