Tough one, but it would be between Slipknot & Metallica. KoRn had some good stuff, but they're not as original.

Plus most of their albums only only a few good songs in them, and their new stuff was disappointing.

Metallica went downhill as well, but I agree that their old stuff was awesome especially One, Enter The Sandman, Master of Puppets etc.

As for Slipknot, their self titled album was awesome.

Yeah, "korn" and "original" should not be in the same sentence. Not unless you throw in a "not" in between there.

I'd say Korn were pretty original. I haven't heard anything from before 1994 that sounds quite like them.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

I feel really bad for Korn, their debut album was so groundbreaking that every single label snapped up 15 bands that sound like them. Thus begins the phrase "Nu-Metal" and Korn become a laughing stock because the market is flooded with bands that sound like them, Fred Durst should be lining up to kiss their ass.

To be objective though, everything after their self-titled eats a dick. But Korn really shouldn't be judged so harshly as they did create a whole new genre.

My 2 cents anyhoo

Honestly, if I were one of the members of Korn, and woke up one day realizing that I contributed to the creation of nu-metal, the first thing I would have for breakfast would be Drano.

BUT, then again, if the genre wasn't created, my favorite band (Disturbed) would probably not have been founded. And if it was, it might not have had the same sound as they did.

So I'm 50/50.
