what do you guys reckon are the essential albums that every rock enthusiast should own?

60s
sgt peppers- changed the direction of music for years
Led zeppelin I- its where it all began

70s
darkside of the moon- total mind****
closer- if ever you want an insight into a human beings torture, buy this album
black sabbath- forget paranoid, this is the ****.
damned damned damned- THE punk album to me. beats nevermind the bollocks by a whisker.

80s
stone roses- to me, it started off brit-pop
doolittle- spawned the grunge monster. great album

90s
nevermind- got to have it really.
the bends- you cant lose with this or OK computer really, the sound of the 90s in all its experimental glory.
odelay- primitive, chilled out folk-rock, this guys a genius.
mezzanine- so melodic and moody. trip hop at its finest.
whats the story morning glory- the sound of the britpop era.

00s
hail to thief- a progression in sound from a progressive band.
absolution- greatest album of the 00s so far for me. brilliant, operatic heavy rock.
elephant- so original, band of the 00s.
we have sound- needs to be heard.
BRMC- **** the strokes, this debut is class.

Dude I totally agree with all that **** and I still must get Doolittle cuz all I did was download the Pixies stuff from Kazaa. The ONLY thing I disagree with is "**** the strokes"...keep that **** on the D.L.
