Wait you're trying to pass off Korn as a popular band in the 00s cause they sold 200k? Would you try to pass of Bon Jovi as popular if he sold 200k? That's ****ing pathetic with a band of Korn's past sales.

I don't actually know how old you are but do you remember the 00s? Do you remember the quick death of nu metal in the early-mid 00s? And Korn had died well before then. 200k proves that.

I've met Deftones fans IRL. Several, in fact. Including a couple of obsessed superfans. And then moderate fans like a friend of mine and my brother. I like the band because of influence from friends, basically.

I doubt that they're just somehow well liked in Denmark.

Korn fans aren't hard to find either.

I said 200k in the first week. They probably ended up selling more subsequently. For the record, that Korn album spent 49 consecutive weeks on the Billboard charts which yes is less than Follow the Leader (89 weeks), but it's also more than Issues (47 weeks) which came out in 1999 (a big year for nu metal). Significant Other by Limp Bizkit was also in 1999 and it sold 16 million worldwide.

Korn had, for the most part, left the mainstream yes but nu metal wasn't as dead as you say. At least not in '05.

I do remember hearing Coming Undone from See You on the Other Side back on the radio quite a bit back when it was new. Not to say that means nu metal was still popular with one hit single from one band, but it is something.

Down to the Bone is such a fantastic album, Quiet Riot's best imo. Wish it wasn't out of print.

You know, I've never given Crue much of a chance past listening to the obvious hit, "Shout at the Devil." I decided to give their particular brand of over-sexed, misogynistic-yet-gender-bending hair metal a try... and whatta ya know, it kicks ass. The music might be caveman-stupid, but these riffs don't lie.

Oh, and PS- still working my way through Bolt Thrower. About to start Mercenary. So far, I think IVth Crusade has been my favorite. I dig the doom elements and plodding, relentless riffs.
